Remember the joyous times.
With Mom we have had;
Forget days of frustration,
When her days are sad.
We may be the first to call today,
And not want to spoil for her.
Even if we grow weary and,
Feel like saying gr-r-r-r!
Sudden silence may follow when,
We say, "You already told me that!".
We could pretend we've never heard,
And sweetly let her chat.
We really can't correct her words,
She's the Mother, we're the child.
Never will she give up "Anyway",
And "You know" for even a "while".
"Never mind" is her priceless word,
Only she knows what it meant!
"Whenever you have a chance",
Do it now is her intent.
"Nevertheless" she's the one,
That first taught us how to talk.
We find ourselves repeating her words
Have learned her way of "sweet talk"!
"I love you" comes so naturally,
She's surely taught us that.
So Mom I'll say "I love you",
And hope we soon will chat!
