This chair knows all my heartaches, It’s where I sit to pray. It also knows my heart's desires, As I begin each day.
It’s in this chair that I recall, Sitting on my Granddad’s knee. He told me of our Father’s love; Read the Bible to me.
He taught me to disregard when, Unkind words I hear. He comforted and drew me close. And wiped away my tear.
He was a plain and simple man, With a love for all others. Treated all with great respect as, God said they were his Brothers.
This old chair is dear to me, Fond memories it does bring. Of days I can’t bring back but, It makes my heart still sing! © southbreeze
