This chair knows all my heartaches,
Itís where I sit to pray.
It also knows my heart's desires,
As I begin each day.
Itís in this chair that I recall,
Sitting on my Granddadís knee.
He told me of our Fatherís love;
Read the Bible to me.
He taught me to disregard when,
Unkind words I hear.
He comforted and drew me close.
And wiped away my tear.
He was a plain and simple man,
With a love for all others.
Treated all with great respect as,
God said they were his Brothers.
This old chair is dear to me,
Fond memories it does bring.
Of days I canít bring back but,
It makes my heart still sing!
